“Our nation was attacked 77 years ago,” he said Friday, Dec. 7. “We must never forget those we lost on that fateful day. But instead of defeating us, the attack on Pearl Harbor made clear the determined spirit that drives us as Americans."
Latimer went on to refer to the Westchester residents who fought in World War II as "a manifestation of that spirit," thanking those brave men and women for their service and dedication to American freedoms.
"Westchester is eternally thankful to those who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms – in the past, now and in the future," he said.
